Would you like to become a CIC trainer? Online courses leading to accreditation.

Currently, we have over twenty accredited trainers of Conversations Inviting Change, but we continually receive requests to deliver live and online workshops and courses in CIC, around the UK and abroad. We now plan to run two online courses beginning in 2026 to develop new trainers. One will be aimed mainly at healthcare educators in the UK, Europe and North America (with sessions timed for the early evening GMT). The other is intended for our educator colleagues in Japan and East Asia; it will be mainly in English but with some small group activities in Japanese (with sessions timed for the early evening in Japan).

Provisionally, we expect sessions on each course to occur fortnightly, alternating between educational ones and supervision group meetings. The courses will each last from nine to twelve months. Participants should have attended a previous introductory course in CIC (usually three days or six half days) or have equivalent knowledge and experience of CIC, even if it was some time ago. On formal application, we usually ask people to submit a brief statement of why they would like to become CIC trainers and to attend a short online interview.

If you would like to express interest in the UK/Europe based course or to find out more, please email Anna Beug at anna.beug@icgp.ie. Places are limited so please contact us asap if interested.

For the course aimed mainly at Japan, please email Akira Naito at akira.naito@spft.nhs.uk.
