What’s been happening in CIC in 2023?

What has been going on in ‘Conversations Inviting Change’ in 2023. In a word: lots. We’re currently running our third online course for CIC trainers, with participants from North America, Ireland, the UK and Europe. Some of those attending the course are gaining experience by teaching and facilitating small group work on our latest online workshop (also our third) for the San Diego Pain Summit, with clinicians joining us across the planet from Seattle to New Zealand. Our established trainers have been running live workshops around England and Wales as well as teaching online. John Launer has paid further visits to Ireland and Japan, where he taught at a nursing college, two medical universities and Hokkaido Centre for Family Medicine. 2024 will see our first dedicated online CIC course for Japanese participants. The Association for Narrative Practice in Health Care continues to expand, with regular online meetings including its forthcoming AGM, with a workshop on opiate prescribing: “Oblivion on prescription.” We welcome new members of ANPH: please fill in the form on their website for information and to obtain details of forthcoming courses.
